Kanbei Kuroda is a character newly featured in Samurai Warriors 3. He is one of Hideyoshi Toyotomi's high-classed strategists.

Role in the gamesEdit

Samurai Warriors 2Edit

In Samurai Warriors 2, Kanbei is a generic officer, who mostly appears in Hideyoshi's campaigns after Nobunaga Oda's death. His only prominent role is in the Battle of Odawara Castle (West), in which he brings the engineers who built Azuchi Castle to the battlefield to make the Makeshift Castle.

Historical informationEdit

Kanbei Kuroda was the son of Mototaka Kuroda, a samurai originally from Bizen who ended up in the service of the Odera of Harima. In 1569 Kanbei defeated the troops of the Akamatsu, who had come to besiege Himegi castle.

Kanbei later led Hideyoshi Toyotomi's vangourd in the Chugoku campaign. He also served in the conquest of Shikoku and Kyushu and recieved the fief of six districts of Buzen province worth 120,000 koku. He attended Hideaki Kobayakawa in the invasion of Korea.

During the time of Sekigahara he fought in Kyushu, helping capture the castles of Usuki, Yanagawa and Kurume.
